Recruit science tutors and workshop facilitators and schedule science tutoring and science workshops during the 2021-22 academic year with a special focus on helping students who were negatively impacted by changes in science course delivery due to COVID-19. Be a science tutor and/or workshop facilitator. Be available to work flexible days/hours as needed.

Examples of Duties / Knowledge & Skills
Develop a tutoring plan that is focused on assisting students who were negatively
impacted by COVID-19 pandemic changes to the traditional delivery of science courses.
  • Work with Lead Faculty in science to develop a catch-up workshop plan that is focused
    on assisting students who were negatively impacted by COVID-19 pandemic changes to
    the traditional delivery of science courses.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate science tutors.
  • Create a tutoring schedule that is responsive to student availability and advertise the
    schedule.
  • Recruit and coordinate facilitators for science workshops.
  • Schedule and advertise science workshops for students.
  • Collect participation data and satisfaction surveys to assess the effectiveness of science
    tutoring and science workshops.
  • If appropriate, act as a science tutor and/or science workshop facilitator.
  • Coordinate a pilot program for facilitating the formation of effective study groups in science
    courses.
  • Coordinate a Science Cafe (Lunch and Learn) program for students (one per semester).

    Minimum qualifications & Requirements
    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    A Master's degree in a science-related field
    Must be able to work on the CCA Lowry campus
    Available to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends)
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    College teaching experience
    Experience supervising and/or mentoring instructors or tutors
    Experience developing workshops or activities related to student learning
    Demonstrated interest in engaging and impacting underrepresented students

    Supplemental information
    Salary:: This is a part time position (20 hours a week) and the salary range is $26,000-$26,230.00 annually. As this part time position the position is not eligible for benefits.
